Advertisements and cosmetic labels promise many things. From getting rid of wrinkles, to deep moisturisation, getting rid of fat on our thighs, and making our hair 100% thicker. That's strange that the producers don't additionally assure us that the day cream will pick our child from school and prepare our supper, and the night cream will change the sheets and massage our neck. Over time, we got used to the petty lies and we are happy if the cosmetic at least doesn't do more damage to our skin. But are there products that are able to positively surprise us on the market? There are surely multiple examples. In today's post, I would like to show you my list.

***

– I will start with hand creams because I've tested the greatest number of products. I'm quite demanding as I hate when my hands are greasy and leave stains on my clothes. The elements that are equally important are the texture, the size of the package (I think that it should be small enough for us to carry it in a coat pocket), the ingredients used, and the fragrance. The hand cream by The Secret Soap Store scored the highest in my home test. With 20% shea content and banana smell, it is a new product created by the domestic Polish brand selling natural cosmetics. Its great advantage is the lemon juice that can be found in the composition. The juice brightens the colour of the nail plate. This hand cream can be applied multiple times during the day, but already after the first use, it can be easily noticed that our hands become soft, delicate, and moisturised. It doesn't contain any silicones which are the ones to watch out for (first and foremost, pay attention to simethicone, trimethicone). Harmful substances can be easily recognised by their endings: "methicone," "silicon,"  "siloxane," "silanol”.

Mój domowy test najlepiej zdał regenerujący krem do rąk z 20% zawartością masła Shea, nowość o zapachu banana polskiej rodzinnej marki kosmetyków naturalnych The Secret Soap Store.

– Having tested three different versions of face masks, I took a liking only to one of them. Those that are disposable are sure convenient and don't leave stains, but the effect was barely noticeable. I wanted my testing to be honest so I repeated this home treatment five times and I didn't notice even the slightest positive change on my face. I also tested algae that only require some water to be ready for application. The complexion really looked better and brighter, but the smell of green slime makes me feel rather queasy and I won't use it again. Coco Clear face mask by HelloBody turned out to be the best. It has a delicate coconut smell. It is enough to apply the mask for fifteen minutes on cleansed face and then wash it with water. The cosmetic is supposed to clean the face and it really does it – blackheads and pores disappear (now, the cosmetics are 15% cheaper with the code: MLE15). When buying a face mask, pay attention to its smell (as you will have it right next to your nose). It is vital that you read how much time the mask has to stay on your face, as I personally think that the period of time shouldn't be too short nor too long (the mask won't bring any effects in five minutes, and thirty minutes is definitely too long – who will find that much time with today's hectic pace of life).

– There exists a belief that the more expensive the product, the better it is. I don't agree with that because the price of a product is often determined by the brand, smell, bottle, or package. None of these elements have any impact on the effectiveness of cosmetics. I came to such a conclusion when I was in the middle of testing body lotions. The greatest number of them can be found on drug store shelves. From bottles that cost a dozen or so zlotys to those that cost several dozen zlotys. In my case, the best body lotion turned out to be the one by Termissa – based on thermal water from Podhale. It moisturises our skin in next to no time, it is quickly absorbed into the skin, and isn't greasy at all. For 259 millilitres you will have to pay PLN 32. I think that the price isn't excessive, and the effects of the lotion are really consistent with what you can read on the bottle.

Do takiego wniosku doszłam podczas testowania balsamów do ciała.

– Hair cosmetics by Rene Furterer turned out to be my best discovery during my home tests. Not all of them are ideal, but two products outdid themselves and even the descriptions on the packages won't reflect the effect that I observed. Nuaturia, which is a no-rinse hair conditioner, gives my hair such a shine that even my hairdresser asked me about the changes in my hair care. This cosmetic doesn't burden our hair and can be used at any time of the day, even a couple of times a day. Its composition is natural; therefore, it will be ideal for children (it helps me to comb out Julia's curly hair). I'm well aware that I sound as if I was taken straight from a corny tv commercial, but I can't put it into words in any other way. This cosmetic is really exceptional. The second product that is wort the money and the time spent on its appropriate application is Karite hair mask with an extract from shea tree and quince. Already after first use, it is possible to spot the difference – our hair is nourished, loose, and acquires shine. Rene Furterer cosmetics are available in Douglas, but their price is twice as high in comparison to what can be found for example in Ziko pharmacies. They are also available on-line, here and here.

As of today, I was able to create a list of five products that are worth recommending. However, I'm eager to test new cosmetics – can I count on your choices? Be sure to share the secrets of your bathroom cabinets in the comments ;)

Kosmetyk nie obciąża włosów i można go używać o dowolnej porze dnia nawet kilka razy.
