1This time of the year, there is nothing as warming as a large pot of home-made soup. It is one of those recipes that basically "cooks itself." Without any problem, you can modify the ingredients and – if necessary – cook a larger amount. Now, I can calmly gaze at the falling snowflakes through the window :-) Have a pleasant afternoon :*

Directions:

1. Fry chopped onion, garlic, chilli pepper, and thyme sprigs in olive oil in a pot with a cast-iron bottom. Pour the broth or water over it and add red lentils, ginger, chopped kale, bay leaves, canned tomatoes, and the rest of herbs. Boil the mixture and then, reduce the heat and cook for approx. 35-40 minutes.

2. Season everything according to your liking – with salt, an additional pinch of cumin or with pepper. Serve with chopped parsley and, optionally, with a spoonful of yoghurt or sour cream.

A oto jak to zrobić:

1. W garnku o żeliwnym dnie podsmażamy na oliwie posiekaną cebulę, czosnek, papryczkę chili i gałązki tymianku. Całość zalewamy bulionem lub wodą i dodajemy soczewicę, imbir, posiekany jarmuż, liście laurowe, pomidory z puszki i resztę przypraw. Doprowadzamy do wrzenia, a następnie zmniejszamy temperaturę i gotujemy ok. 35-40 minut.

2. Całość doprawiamy wg uznania – solą, dodatkową szczyptą kminu rzymskiego lub pieprzem. Podajemy z posiekaną pietruszką i ewentualnie łyżką jogurtu lub śmietany.
