   In today's "Look of the day" post, apart from showing you the outfit, I would like to show you a couple of photos from Copenhagen. I am probably doomed to trips that are too short and that allow me to enjoy the ambience and watch the inhabitants of the place for just a moment. The gardens surrounding Rosenborg Castle, exhibitions and showrooms by the representatives of Danish design, or restaurants setting trends in gastronomy around the world – in Copenhagen everything is within one's reach… or handlebars' reach.

Skazana chyba jestem na za krótkie wyjazdy, które pozwalają mi tylko przez moment nacieszyć się atmosferą miejsca i poobserwować życie mieszkańców. Ogrody otaczające zamek Rosenborg, wystawy i showroomy przedstawicieli duńskiego designu czy restauracje wytaczające trendy w gastronomii na całym świecie – w Kopenhadze wszystko jest na wyciągnięcie ręki… lub kierownicy roweru.

   Late spring and summer are a time when I wear dresses more eagerly. I really like shirt dresses as they are not infantile, and the blue and white stripe pattern always looks noble. Apart from that, it matches my favourite colour – dark blue. If I manage to go on a true holiday this year, I will happily wear flat sandals to my shirt dress (and a bathing suit underneath it!). For the time being – in a more urban environment – I opt for leather lace-up high heels, a simple handbag, and a classic watch with a brown strap.

   Późną wiosną i latem chętniej noszę sukienki. Tę o kroju koszuli lubię szczególnie, bo nie jest infantylna, a wzór w niebiesko-białe prążki zawsze prezentuje się szlachetnie. Poza tym, pasuje do mojego ulubionego koloru – granatu. Jeśli uda mi się wyjechać w tym roku na prawdziwe wakacje, to do mojej koszulowej sukienki chętnie włożę sandałki na płaskim obcasie (i kostium kąpielowy pod spodem!). Póki co, w bardziej miejskich okolicznościach stawiam na skórzane, wiązane szpilki, prostą torebkę i klasyczny zegarek na brązowym pasku.

   Again today, I will continue my considerations concerning the relevancy behind the appropriate packing of a suitcase. However, this time, I will focus on the positive elements that can be noticed… after returning home. Before my trip to the Southern France (those who didn't see my post about the collaboration with Chanel can read it here), I thoroughly studied the contents of my wardrobe – doing a small cleaning up during the process – and packed the chosen things in my suitcase. For two days, separated from all of my clothes by thousands of kilometres, I felt a kind of relief. On the second morning, I was doomed to a cotton blouse in a navy stripe pattern, high-rise jeans, and leather flats, but it wasn't any kind of problem for me. In fact, I didn't really need anything else. These clothes were the quintessence of my style, and I felt really good in them. 

   Thus, the tip of the day is as follows: if you've recently come back from a trip, try to maintain the feeling of liberation (as if it was the next step after the "clothing rehab"). Check whether, thanks to this, it will be easier for you to introduce changes which have required some motivation for a long time – and I'm not only talking about clothes. If you were to pack the most necessary things in a rucksack, what would you choose? Do you need the things that you decided to leave? It is worth asking yourselves such questions if we more and more often feel overwhelmed by the overabundance of things that surround us.

 Dziś po raz kolejny będę snuła swoje rozważania na temat zasadności odpowiedniego pakowania walizki. Tym razem jednak skupię się na pozytywach, które można dostrzec… po powrocie do domu. Przed podróżą do południowej Francji (tych z Was, którzy nie załapali się na relację z mojej współpracy z Chanel zapraszam tutaj) wnikliwie przestudiowałam szafę, robiąc przy okazji małe porządki, i zapakowałam do walizki wybrane rzeczy. Przez dwa dni, oddalona od wszystkich moich ubrań o tysiące kilometrów, odczułam pewnego rodzaju ulgę. Drugiego ranka skazana byłam na bawełnianą bluzkę w marynarskie paski, dżinsy z wysokim stanem i skórzane baletki, ale nie stanowiło to dla mnie żadnego problemu. Przecież niczego więcej nie potrzebowałam, a te kilka rzeczy stanowiły kwintesencję mojego stylu i czułam się w nich bardzo dobrze. 

  Rada dnia jest więc taka: jeśli wróciłyście ostatnio z podróży, spróbujcie podtrzymać w sobie to uczucie wyzwolenia (jakby po "ubraniowym odwyku"). Sprawdźcie czy dzięki temu, nie będzie Wam łatwiej przeprowadzić zmian, które od dawna czekały na zastrzyk motywacji. I nie mam na myśli jedynie ubrań. Gdybyście miały zapakować najpotrzebniejsze rzeczy do plecaka, to co by to było? I czy potrzebujecie tego, co zostawiłyście? Warto stawiać sobie takie pytania, jeśli coraz częściej czujemy się przytłoczeni nadmiarem otaczających nas rzeczy.

   Today, it's time for a post from the "Look of The Day" series; therefore, I decided to show you photos which I managed to take during a short trip to Saint-Paul de Vence. It is located in the near vicinity of Cannes, where the famous film festival was taking place at the time. I was curious whether any of the stars would come there to rest for a while from the hustle and bustle of the event. I could easily imagine all of the greatest stars in that place. They would be probably strolling around the winding small streets or eating ice-cream and leaning against the walls of the old stone houses.

   I had vintage style on my mind – Brigitte Bardot in a pair of black flats, Grace Kelly in a pair of high-rise shorts made of thick cotton, or Jane Birkin in her messy and, at the same time, ideal hairdo. Fashion icons in Cannes, in the past and today, may become a perfect inspiration to create summer and more casual outfits (go back in time and check it out here). Thus, as usual, a classic striped sweatshirt turned out to be irreplaceable.

   Dziś pora na wpis z cyklu "Look of The Day" więc postanowiłam podzielić się z Wami zdjęciami, które udało mi się zrobić w trakcie krótkiej wycieczki do miasteczka Saint-Paul de Vence. Mieści się ono niedaleko Cannes, w którym odbywał się właśnie słynny festiwal filmowy. Ciekawa byłam czy któraś z gwiazd przyjedzie tu, aby odetchnąć na chwilę od zgiełku i zamieszania. Z łatwością mogłabym wyobrazić sobie tutaj wszystkie wielkie gwiazdy. Spacerowałyby pewnie po krętych uliczkach albo jadły lody, opierając się o ściany starych kamiennych domów. 

   Po głowie chodziły mi klimaty vintage – Brigitte Bardot w czarnych baletkach na nogach, Grace Kelly w wysokich szortach z grubej bawełny, albo Jane Birkin w swojej niedbałej, a jednocześnie idealnej fryzurze. Ikony mody w Cannes, wczoraj i dziś, mogą być świetną inspiracją dla letnich, luźniejszych strojów (same cofnijcie się w czasie i zobaczcie tutaj). Klasyczna bluza w paski, jak zwykle, okazała się więc niezastąpiona.

   I know that many of you would prefer to look stylish rather than fashionable. In fact, this is the main assumption that I follow while writing consecutive posts for you. But, owing to that, should I stay away from all fashion magazines and be doomed to a pair of black flats, jeans, and a white T-shirt until the end of my days? Of course, not! This season, the trend of wearing sateen pyjamas around the city (just like here) didn't quite suit my taste. However, the delicate accents which are skilfully introduced into our outfit look excellent (for example here), and there is no guarantee that they will be out of fashion with the coming of autumn. I wasn't taken by the lace-up blouses (such as these) as they look pretty bad under a blazer, coat, or sweater – in my opinion, they won't stand the fashion test of time. However, when it comes to espadrilles, which tentatively appeared in the previous season, I'm very much in favour of them! Flats, delicate wedges, in cream colour, or in a more vibrant one. In my case, they win with foam flip-flops, knee-high gladiator sandals, or Birkenstock shoes. What do you think about them?

   Wiem, że wiele z Was woli wyglądać stylowo niż modnie. To zresztą główne założenie, jakim kieruje się pisząc dla Was kolejne artykuły. Ale czy w związku  z tym, powinnam omijać szerokim łukiem modowe czasopisma i do końca życia skazana jestem na czarne baletki, dżinsy i biały t-shirt? Oczywiście, że nie! W tym sezonie nie do końca przypadł mi do gustu trend na chodzenie w satynowej pidżamie po mieście (tak jak tutaj), ale delikatne akcenty, umiejętnie wprowadzone do naszego stroju wyglądają świetnie (na przykład tutaj) i wcale nie jest powiedziane, że przestaną być modne wraz z nadejściem jesieni. Nie ujęły mnie bluzki z wiązaniem na dekolcie (takie jak tutaj), bo kiepsko wyglądają pod żakietem, płaszczem czy swetrem – nie przetrwają według mnie modowej próby czasu. Jeśli jednak chodzi o espadryle, które pojawiły się już nieśmiało w poprzednim sezonie, to jestem jak najbardziej za! Na płaskiej podeszwie, delikatnym koturnie, kremowe albo w mocniejszym kolorze. Wygrywają u mnie z piankowymi japonkami, rzymiankami wiązynymi aż po kolana, czy birkenstockami. A co Wy o nich myślicie?

   Foreign fashion and lifestyle websites are outdoing one another in presenting "from 6 am to 6 pm" outfits – these are clothes that we can wear throughout the day and, regardless of the situation, look good. I immediately pictured the whole outfit that would fulfil these criteria. A dark blue blazer (lighter from the one that I wore during the last fall and early spring seasons), a white T-shirt, a pair of black trousers, and leather high heels with a lower heel.

   Have you ever wondered what determines whether you feel good wearing a certain outfit throughout the day and whether you'd like to wear it all the time? Today, most of you are probably enjoying the charms of spring and resting from the daily duties. However, I’d be happy to read your suggestions of such outfits!

   Zagraniczne portale modowo-lifestylowe prześcigają się w propozycjach strojów „from 6am to 6pm”, czyli czegoś, co mogłybyśmy nosić przez cały dzień i niezależnie od sytuacji, wyglądać dobrze. Bardzo szybko ustaliłam w głowie strój, który spełniałby tego rodzaju kryteria. Granatowa marynarka (lżejsza od tej którą nosiłam w sezonie jesiennym i wczesnowiosennym), biały t-shirt, czarne spodnie i skórzane szpilki na niższym obcasie.  

   Zastanawiałyście się kiedyś nad tym, co decyduje o tym, że dobrze czujecie się w danym stroju przez cały dzień i macie ochotę wkładać go bez przerwy? Dziś większość z Was korzysta pewnie z uroków wiosny i odpoczywa od codziennych obowiązków, ale z przyjemnością przeczytam o Waszych propozycjach!
