   My stay in Milan provided me with an opportunity to enjoy summer for a little bit longer. My favourite classic piece for the summer weather – white trousers – is a little bit retro, as the high waist, darts, and none too narrow trouser legs are reminiscent of the 50s. A black blouse with fine polka dot pattern is a tribute to the icons of the Italian cinema who loved this particular pattern very much.

   I really wanted to publish the whole photo report from my trip to Milan already today, but unfortunately, I simply hadn’t had enough time. Sorting through over 1900 photos still requires a modicum of patience and work, and I don't want to post something that I've prepared in a chaotic way just to "upload it as soon as possible and gather some likes." However, there is a calm evening at home ahead of me; therefore, everything should be ready for tomorrow!

 Pobyt w Mediolanie dał mi okazję, aby nacieszyć się latem jeszcze przez krótką chwilę. Mój ulubiony klasyk na letnią pogodą – białe spodnie – jest trochę w klimacie retro, bo wysoka talia, zaszewki i niezbyt wąskie nogawki nawiązują do lat pięćdziesiątych. Czarna bluzka w drobne groszki to ukłon w stronę ikon włoskiego kina, które szczególnie ukochały sobie ten wzór.

   Bardzo chciałam już dziś opublikować całą relację z mojego wyjazdu do Mediolanu, ale niestety zabrakło mi czasu. Przejrzenie ponad 1900 zdjęć wymaga jednak odrobiny cierpliwości i pracy, a nie chcę fundować Wam czegoś, co robiłabym na kolanie "byleby puścić to jak najszybciej i zebrać lajki". Przede mną jednak spokojny wieczór w domu, więc do jutra powinnam zdążyć!

   For some of us, it comes with age, others have it in their blood, and some women will never attain it – the skill to wear clothes that we really want to and not these that seem to us essential to pass as fashionable.

   The older I get, the more comfortable I become, and I don't give a toss about what others think about me – I express my opinions concerning each aspect of life in a more open and decisive way. When it comes to clothes, it manifests itself by the fact that I simply wear clothes that I want and that make me feel good. I won't attempt to impress somebody with a fashionable detail so that they can assume that I know what's going on in the fashion world.

   This is what my "work outfit" looked like during my last trip to Warsaw. I started my work very early; thus, I stayed in a thin black coat that is tied around the waistline until it became warm. Very comfortable flat suede shoes made the whole outfit a little bit more relaxed.

   Niektórym z nas przychodzi to z wiekiem, inne mają to we krwi, a części kobiet nigdy się to nie uda – umiejętność noszenia tego, czego się chcę, a nie tego, co wydaje nam się, że powinnyśmy nosić, aby uchodzić za modne. 

   Im jestem starsza, tym więcej mam pewności siebie i mniej przejmuje się tym, co myślą o mnie inni – bardziej otwarcie i zdecydowanie wyrażam swoje zdanie na temat każdego aspektu życia. W przypadku ubrań objawia się to tym, że po prostu noszę to, na co mam ochotę i w czym czuję się dobrze. Nie będę podejmowała próby zaimponowania komuś modnym detalem, aby uznał, że naprawdę wiem "co piszczy w modowej trawie". 

   Tak wyglądał mój "strój roboczy" w trakcie ostatniego wyjazdu do Warszawy. Pracę rozpoczęłam bardzo wcześnie, więc nim zrobiło się ciepło nie ściągałam cienkiego, czarnego płaszcza wiązanego w pasie. Zamszowe, bardzo wygodne buty na płaskiej podeszwie nadały całości odrobiny luzu.

   My outfit has stopped somewhere between summer and autumn. I put on a warm sweater only in the evenings for now (this season, I chose one that is in dark green), but I never part with my leather bag and slingback shoes on a low and wide heel. We don't need original patterns if an interesting texture of our clothes is discernible (for example, that of a woollen sweater). I could wear such a set every day until the first leaves start to fall.

   Mój strój zatrzymał się gdzieś pomiędzy latem a jesienią. Ciepły sweter wkładam póki co tylko wieczorami (w tym sezonie wybrałam ten w kolorze ciemnej zieleni) za to nie rozstaję się ze skórzaną torebką i butami na niskim szerokim obcasie. Oryginalne wzory nie są potrzebne, jeśli w naszym stroju można dostrzec ciekawą fakturę (na przykład wełnianego swetra). Taki zestaw mogłabym nosić codziennie, aż do pierwszych spadających liści.

   Finding a person who hasn't been complaining about the weather would be little short of miraculous in the Tricity. Courtesy small talks were thus significantly simpler than usually, as words concerning the perpetually rainy weather were particularly hard to avoid. It can be even said that owing to that, we had more frequent conversations with other people. When I ran soaking wet into the nearby shop, I looked so pitiful that even the taciturn shop assistant, whose voice I hadn't had the opportunity to hear until then, commented on the whole situation in his own way (even before I was able to say "good morning" and sneeze at the top of my voice) – "you're so drenched…you should have taken an umbrella with you" (never enough of cordiality).

   When on a Saturday morning the sun started to shine shyly from between the clouds, I quickly used the opportunity and got onto taking pictures.  Please forgive me these early autumn references (jersey dress and leather jacket), but, against my will, the summer mood has somehow left me. And what about you?

   Znalezienie osoby w Trójmieście, która w ostatnich dniach nie narzekała na pogodę graniczyłoby z cudem. Kurtuazyjne rozmowy były więc znacznie łatwiejsze niż zwykle, bo słowa na temat wiecznie padającego deszczu same cisnęły się do ust. Można wręcz rzec, że dzięki temu odzywaliśmy się do siebie nawzajem częściej niż zwykle. Wpadając przemoknięta do pobliskiego sklepu, wzbudzałam taką litość, że nawet mrukliwy sprzedawca, którego głosu do tej pory nie było mi dane usłyszeć, skomentował to na swój sposób (jeszcze nim zdążyłam powiedzieć "dzień dobry" i kichnąć na cały głos) "ale pani zmokła… trzeba było wziąć parasol"  (serdeczności nigdy dość). 

   Gdy w sobotni poranek słońce zaczęło się nieśmiało wychylać zza chmur szybko wykorzystałam szansę i zabrałam się za zdjęcia.  Wybaczcie mi te wczesnojesienne naleciałości (dzianinowa sukienka i skórzana kurtka), ale wbrew mojej woli letni nastrój jakoś mi uleciał. A Wam?
